Serj Tankian sideshows announced

Serj Tankian will be doing Brisbane sideshows to go with his Big Day Out appearances. The System of A Down frontman will also be accompanied by the Fantomas supergroup. He'll will be playing The Tivoli on January 21.

 


Crystal Castles touring in February

Canadians Crystal Castles will be bringing their furious 8-bit electro back to our shores in February. They'll be playing a run of dates around the country, including The Met on February 6.

The Prodigy playing Brissie show

The Prodigy have added a Riverstage show to their Australian Big Day Out tour - and they'll be supported by Simian Mobile Disco and Hot Chip (DJs). Tickets go on sale November 14, and the show itself will be on Tuesday January 20 2009.

 


Leonard Cohen touring Australia

Grinspoon added to Odyssey '09

Grinspoon have been added to the Odyssey '09 event at Carrara Sports Complex on the Gold Coast for New Year's Eve. Also added to the lineup are Bliss N Eso, Phrase, Malente and Sam La More. They're joining Jet, Eskimo Joe and The Butterfly Effect.

Sunset Sounds coming in January

Sunset Sounds is coming to the Garden Stage in the Botanic Gardens and the Riverstage in the City Gardens over the 7th and 8th of January. Lineup here.

 


Underoath change of venue

Underoath have had to move their Brisbane and Sydney dates due to a surge in ticket sales. The Brisbane show that was scheduled for Thursday 2 October at the Arena is now Tuesday September 30 at the Tivoli. More here.

 


NIN headlining Soundwave 09

Soundwave 2009 has released its lineup, and as usual, it's absolutely chock full of massive acts, with none other than Nine Inch Nails headlining the festival. There's also Alice In Chains, Bloodhound Gang, Lamb of God, Alkaline Trio and heaps more. Check the website for the full list.


Summafieldayze lineup announced

Summafieldayze organisers have delivered the first lineup of the 2009 festival, with UK masters Underworld headlining. The rest of the lineup is certainly not short on big names, with Armin Van Buuren, Eric Prydz, Ferry Corsten, Calvin Harris(DJ Set), Digitalism live and heaps more heading downunder for the gig on the 3rd of January at Doug Jennings Park on the Gold Coast.


Bloc Party touring in November

Bloc Party have announced they'll be returning to our shores at the end of the year. They'll be bringing their new album 'Intimacy' with them, although the band has promised to dip into their impressive back catalogue for fans. Catch them at the Riverstage on Friday November 28. Tickets go on sale Thursday September 25.


Falls lineup fills out

Nick Cave headlining ATP downunder

The legendary All Tomorrow's Parties festival has announced it's coming downunder, with Nick Cave headlining the first event in January. The event is going to be held at Mt Buller in Victoria from the 9th to the 11th of January next year.

 


Neil Young to headline Big Day Out 09

The organisers of the Big Day Out have confirmed Neil Young will be headlining the festival next January. In a surprising move, BDO head man Ken West says the, um, mature folk rock legend will be top of the bill, but will also be performing solo shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.


Jackson Jackson headlining Noosa Jazz Fest

 Meredith lineup announced

The first lineup for the Meredith festival has been announced, with MGMT, Holy Fuck (pictured), The Mountain Goats and more coming to the Supernatural ampitheatre at Meredith for the 12th, 13th and 14th of December. MGMT touring Aus this summer
